Where do I get Yamaha special tools?
Well, now that I've torn the hell out of the rear prop shaft oil seal and made absolutely no progress toward getting it out I guess I should do it the right way. http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/ohwell.gif
I need to know where to get the special tool YB-34447 to remove the ring nut out of my 150 proV lower unit so I can pull the bearing housing and replace the prop shaft oil seals the correct way. I've tried bumping it with a hammer and screwdriver but it's not working. http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/crying.gif
I think maybe I should have just paid someone to do this. http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/embarassed.gif

Whew, good question. I wonder if a yamaha certified mech can get you one. Are you friends with any local boat dealerships?

a slide hammer works great
any yami dealer can get you them

A slide hammer to put in a threaded ring nut?
Re: Where do I get Yamaha special tools? (headhigh)
sometimes a punch and hammer
i thought he had it off already

I'm gonna try to make my own ring nut socket to put the new one back in. http://www.bassboatcentral.com/boardstuff2/beers.gif
I had to drill the old one out because I was afraid I was gonna mess up the gear case beating that nut with a hammer and punch.

I needed the tool to remove the trim cylinder caps. These guys let me barrow the tool if I bought the parts from them. They were great there prices were fair. I live in Florida the sent me parts with the tool and when I was done I mailed it back to them. Maybe they will do the same for you.
