Re: Ring Free and Yamalube (jsragan)
I use to use Ring Free, but it's expensive and alot of the guys here talk about how great Seafoam is so I did some research on it. Now all I use is Seafoam it's a little cheaper. As far as oil I switched from Yamalube to Quicksilver (Merc's version of oil). Reason is the closest Yamaha dealer to me is an hour away, also every spring BPS has Quicksilver on sale at the Spring Classics, and I buy it by the case. As far as oil goes I think it's all relatively the same as long as it comes from a respectable company. (One company probably makes them all anyway!) Just my $.02.

Re: Ring Free and Yamalube (jsragan)
I have the same motor as yours, I had new heads put on by Hydro Tec in 07, they showed me a head that the owner used Yamalube and then showed me another head that another popular oil was used in. I WILL CONTINUE TO USED YAMALUBE. Check out this report.

As far as ring free vs. sea foam. During the summer as I use more gas I use ring free but during the winter as I don't use as much fuel I'll use sea foam. They both decarb motors but sea foam has fuel stabilizer like stable in it. Either one is fine.
