how often do u guys change plugs ?
Being you live in MD. your motor should be fogged every fall. In the spring do a WOT run about 6 miles with sea foam or ring free then change plugs they are only $ 2.30 each at auto zone. http://xs-s.com/zf/images/smile/emthup.gif
I've changed mine once in 3 years. I'll take them out every once so often and clean them. They are cheap so would be cheap insurance.
$1.86 a piece at Advanced auto......I buy them by the dozen http://xs-s.com/zf/images/smile/emthup.gif I change mine every season
Doh!... I thought I got a good deal at $5 online!
Any comments on gap size for a 250 hpdi?
I found this old thread: http://www.bbcboards.net/zerothread?id=67964
...however there seemed to be a little confusion in it.
As a follow up....
I found this Document listing plug gaps for a pile of NGK plugs....last page:
http://marineengineparts.com/1...1.pdf
Even that has nothing listed for the NGKBKR6EKU reccommended.....
...Still searching.....
You live in LA. your plugs should last that long you don't fog your motor for winter. Your plugs should be changed when electrode is rounded and your plugs should not need cleaning if you use the right oil and sea foam.
I started to gap mine (250HPDI) to the lower end of the range stated in the manual, then I noticed that the ends of the arms are CURVED. I don't know how we're supposed to gap curved ends, so I just put them in right out of the box. I think I might have heard that they were pregapped. We'll see.

Then only reason i changed them once was i take them out to inspect and i broke one, at that point i decided to change them all out.
