Is it healthy to give a heavy dose of seafoam to clean carbon depoits say once month?

Quickleen is also supposed to clean the fuel system and injectors ect... right? Will quickleen also clean/disolve any carbon build up????

As for sea foam ... can I dump one can or double up on the seafoam say every other month? Its a 50 gallon tank. I've had the boat for a few years and use additives about once a month, however; the previous owner never ran anything but pure gas ( no additives).

If you "shock" or double up on your gas with one big dose once in a awhile is there any possibilty that some large chunks ( large enough to cause harm) of the carbon can come "undone" and clog the injectors??? My mtr drinks gas quicker then Mickey D's can sell cheesburgers. Its a 04 mecr 225 EFI...but very dependable but when you burn two tanks a week all these additives can be expensive. During bedding season ( St Johns River) I fish 3-4 days a week ( Jan -April) and your talking about a good chunk of extra change.

By the way Don I need your # to the shop. I was going to get reeds and what ever gaskets I need. We talked a few we weeks ago via PM's. You informed me of what I need for my 225 EFI 3.0L. I believe its an 04 model.

I use 1 can of sea foam in every fill up. You can tell those that do just look how clean the prop barrel looks : )

Quickleen indeed is a carbon remover, and carbon PREVENTER. It would be perfectly acceptable to occassionally utilize more of it (within reason, of course) for the purpose of decarbing.

Most carbon deposits in your EFI engine would occur in the combustion chamber and exhaust. Very unlikely you're going to see any substantial carbon in the INJECTORS (simply due to their location in your EFI engine). :wink:
