Throttle Trim Switch Help
Hello all,
I am new to outboards and am the proud owner of a 1989 Yamaha 90 HP. Can someone provide some guidance on how to repair / replace the trim switch on the outside of the throttle handle? I am thinking there has to be an easy way to get this done without removing the control box completely.
Thanks in advance.

Not sure what type of control you have but the switch on my 97 prov 200 is accessible by removing (2) screws from the bottom of the handle which exposes a red rocker switch. If you have the same type, pop the switch cover off by using a small screwdriver to access the rocker. You may find as i have that carbon is built up on your contacts. Clean off the carbon, put it back together (don't lose the (2) small rocker springs) and get out on the water. I have to do this once a year to keep it working properly but after 10 years it still works fine.
Good Luck
