I was wondering what everyone is pushing for RPM's for this motor, I have a Tempest Plus 27 pitch prop and at WOT I'm pushing 5500 PM's and Yamaha says that is redline for this motor and that I should go up in pitch size to get my RPM's more in line with 5200 to 5300 operating range. I thought going up in pitch would slow my boat down and I'm trying to acheive a little more top end. Thanks.

I'm pushing 6,000 with a Yamaha 27 T-1 when I'm alone. With an extra person, I'm probably around 5,800.
2003 ZX225, 225 OX66. Same as above, pushing 6000 rpm alone with 27M. 5800 with partner on board.
Im set up for 5800 rpm's .... WOT .

Mine is 5500 trimmed up at w.o.t.
Like evryone else has said, it is fine to 6000 rpm's...It is best to get it to run between 5800-6000 depending on load...Rev limiter will kick in @ 6150 rpm...
