I have a 2007 Yamaha hpdi 250 motor and found a dealer that is trying to sell a new in the box lower unit for my motor.. He wants 1500.00.... Is this a to good to pass up deal or can they be bought for this amount... I don't need it but I thought it may be nice to have a spare to carry with me when I'm on the road..

Nott sure either... But do some checking... Price a new one from another dealer and see what happens... If you can afford it, do it... You can always sell it if you need cash...
Thanks, I will do some checking... I just hate to pass this up and than wreck a lower unit when I am on the road and not be able to fish the tournament I am in or end up paying an excessive amount to get one on short notice... I have ran Evinrudes in the past and the last time I bought a 250 Evinrude lower unit it cost me right around 3300.00.... So with that in mind I was in shock when this dealer gave me a price of 1500.00....
I think thats a very cheap price to pay for a new in the box LU of any brand. I'm not sure it's worth buying for "Just in case" But if you can afford it, Why not?
