New transom saver for Yamaha motots
Just finished up working the boat/tackle show and I was able to see a new transom saver built for Yamaha motors. It attaches to the trim rods similar to the version that Mercury has. It is very compact and made from machined aluminum. It will retail for $50.00 and is available now. It is built by Pro Rule here locally. It is an awesome little product and one a long time coming. As soon as I pick mine up at the boat show this coming weekend I'll post pictures

Cool. Would like to see it. Do they have a website to take a look?

Not in design but possibly in theory. Greg's is a one piece item that has 2 separate tubes that fit over the trim rods.

Just a question, I have heard that these styles realy do not save your transom because the road shock is not absorbed to the trailer and is like using the factory holder????????
Re: New transom saver for Yamaha motots (duster)
Just use the search feature and you will find many debates on this issue!! I assure you this type is fine to use, your transom is made for abuse, what do you think happens at 70 witht he bow in the air!!

Hey all
Any pics of this? Im curious about this new product. I currently use a My-Wedge and was wondering if this would be any better.
Next Monday I am getting my new 2007 200 HPDI installed on my Ranger R97. I have had the motor on order since Aug 3 and it finally arrived a week ago.
Thanks,

Sorry guys I have not been able to catch up to Greg. I have been sick most of the weekend and add to that the crappy weather we've had and I have just been home. I will try to go by there on Wednesday morning after I get off shift. Sorry for the delay.
Re: New transom saver for Yamaha motots (Mark Perry)
Mark, Not trying to steal your thunder.. but I bought one today from Fun-N-Sun in Hurst.
My boat is in a storage unit about 20 miles away, so I don't have any pictures with it on, but basically it goes over the trim pistons.
Cost is $49.99
made by ProRule or http://www.prorule.com
* It's not available online, but you can call the number listed on the web page and he'll ship you one. *
I'm not affiliated with ProRule, but I think this will be pretty handy if it works out. It's powdercoated metal ( not sure what type, but it's pretty heavy ).
