Is a torque tab needed with hydrolic steering?
Kind of a tough question to answer in one word. Hydraulic steering eliminates a lot of steering/torque problems but in some cases with different setups, a torque tab is still a help.
I have Hydraulic steering and a torque tab and still sometimes experience hard steering. Too many things come into play.
It may not be necessary but I believe it is still somewhat of a help. That of course is just my opinion. http://www.bassboatcentral.com/boardstuff2/beers.gif
A properly set up bassboat the tab is out of the water when on plane... It serves as a sacraficial anode better than a steering benefit.
I just cut mine off and there is no difference in feel (I have cable steering).
a torque tab is needed on the skeg if your speeds are in excess of 80.
