CLicking noise from 06-225 HPDI
When running fully trimmed down and slow speeds and at take off I can hear a clicking noise coming from the engine. The cowl vibrates and makes a little noise but it shouldn't be making this all the time. Any ideas? And yes- there is a good possibility that the prop shaft is bent ever so slightly.

If there is even a SLIGHT possibility that the propshaft is bent you need to have it checked so you know for sure. If it is, you need to have it fixed right away. Even if the shaft is bent ever so slightly, that means you are 1) causing vibrations to travel all through your lower unit and up to the motor that can and will cause problems and 2) if you hit something hard enough to bend the prop shaft then you put a lot of stress on those gears in your lower unit which once again can and will cause you problems.
That needs to be fixed right away. http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/sick.gif

Well- mechanic says that the prop shaft is not bent and that the lower unit is fine. They are going to tune it up for me also so we will see what happens. At least with a dealers final say I would assume if anything does happen that it would be warranty work. http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/ohwell.gif

i had that happen right after i got my boat. one of the little rubber cap that on the bottom of the cowling had come off and it was rubbing. mine was on one of the front ones.
