Re: e-tec reliability (GOP)
Welcome to the BBC.
The E-Tec's are doing Great with few if any problems, there are E-Tec's down to 40 HP now with smaller motors on the way. http://xs-s.com/zf/images/smile/emthup.gif
Re: e-tec reliability (GOP)
Like Rusty states, very little problems with the V-6 ETEC's. If you take the ETEC and then the Verado, there is alot more that can go wrong with the Verado. I call it a over engineered outboard. Did you know that a old OMC engineer developed the Verado for Mercury? It was the same guy that developed the old OMC stringer sterndrive packages. http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/Laugh.gif
Re: e-tec reliability (RUSTY63)
Thanks for the feedback. Any idea when the smaller ones are due out?
I have gotten a couple of quotes from local dealers and the lower of the two quotes was 16k plus install http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/eek.gif Does this sound right?
Thanks again

Re: e-tec reliability (RUSTY63)
I don't have any projected dates for the small motors at this time.

I hope they are better than the current "projected" dates for the 115, 150, 175, and 200hp. http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/doh.gif

Re: e-tec reliability (RUSTY63)
I'd really like to see the 115 and 150 E-TEC available and not get the "two more weeks" deal.

What is his name?
He must be quite old as the OMC stirnger came out in about 1962 or so.
Re: e-tec reliability (SEAHORSE)
It was ment as a joke. The stringer is a fine example of a over engineered power system that works but could of been done much easier.
