Thanks for the info on the m-y wedge, I think it would work nice. I just like the option of locking the prop on thats all. Thanks again.
A hacksaw and off it comes in a flash.
If somebody can hack that thing off in my driveway with out me hearing it and they can run faster than 1250 feet per second....they can have it !! http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/devil.gif
Your just keeping the honest guy away... Too much trouble for what it does. I have good insurance. http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/wink.gif They'll have to break into my garage and get past the dog first. http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/Laugh.gif
I use the MYWedge but the idea of a prop lock appeals to me. If it gives you peace of mind, go for it. It'll at least keep the average thief at the ramp or the hotel from stealing the prop.
I need to find a way to secure my prop while using the MYWedge. Ideas?
Yeap!! Take it off and bring it with you!! http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/roll.gif http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/roll.gif
DS unless the transom saver is made of something different then the normal aluminum it would not take very long to get to the prop. just my .02

I'm pretty sure the lock portion is made of hardened steel.
I have the T-rex it works good you do not have to use the prop lock you can leave it off i like it because it has a rubber section in the v to cusion the front part of your lower unit would also like information on the My wedge were do you get them? how much?
I would think the bar that locks the prop would be hard to cut but what about the transom saver it self? You cut it at the V and off she comes unless that is harden steel also.
EDP, The link is above. I bought mine direct.
Spider, It must lock the "V" onto the red part. Otherwize you could trim up and take it off too.
A friend of mine forgot his key to the lock. Two 1/2"wrenches and thirty seconds later, we were launching the boat.
I went ahead and bought the TREX. I dont, knock on wood, live in a high crime area so Im not worried about getting my prop stolen. I just figured that visually, if somebody saw it maybe they would think twice. Plus, it was only a few bucks more than the the regular transom saver I was looking at. It really is a good design and idea, they just need to make it more of a theft deterent by beefing the whole thing up to hardened steel. I installed it on my new boat yesterday and Im pleased with it so far. We will see. Thanks for all your guys inputs.
