pulling tow tube

Hi,,all.
Simple question.
I heard that it will not be so good for the health of your motor if you pull one of those towable tube or ski with the bass boat.
I see bigger and heavier ski boat with less motor do that all the time.
Is it true? If so why?
I have to explain this to my wife.

I don't think pulling a tube will hurt your motor, as long as you use the proper pitched prop for the operating RPM of your motor. There is a good chance that it will be a different pitch (probably smaller) than your prop for fishing.

You will need a better excuse than that, http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/Laugh.gif your DI motor will pull a tube all day long with no problems.
