Re: Another Prop question (Ezcue)
Make sure spines are clean & bur free, put a light coat of grease on the prop shaft. Seat the washer. Install the prop. If it does not seat check the hub to see if it is installed correctly. I have seen a few not pressed in at the right depth.
Re: Another Prop question (Won Hunglo)
The Gade and the Raker thrust washers are different. You can't run a Raker with a Gade and vice versa. Flip the props and try the thrust washer on the back side of the hubs, both will fit in their respective props. CM http://www.bassboatcentral.com/boardstuff2/pimp2.gif
Re: Another Prop question (ChampioNman)
The part number you posted for the gade, 12-835467-7, looks like a Merc number and I dont know if it will work.
If the washer is right, the hub may not be pressed in far enough, as CM posted, flip the prop over and see if the washer fits the inner hub, If it fits but wont contact the outside of the hub you will have to use the prop nut to compress the hub.............Make since?
Re: Another Prop question (RUSTY63)
Thanks for the advice guys. Rusty it may well be a mercury washer, I don't have a lot of confidence in the place I got the boat. It does however fit the gade prop and my output shaft. I understand what you guys are saying by using the shaft nut to "suck in" the hub if it is not pressed in to the right depth. Rusty, now you got me thinking the thrust washer that came on the boat with the gade may not the proper washer either. I would not be suprised if they used a merc washer and just buckled everything up.. Thanks again for the info fellas. I will keep pluggin away till I figure it out. Oh, Rusty, what is the correct number for the thrust washer to fit the gade??
