A few weeks ago i posted about a prob i was having with my oil alarm....at that time it was only charging about 11.5 to 12 volts and pantera thought it might be a stator.....have that prob fixed battery was bad...now charging 13.5.... when this alarm prob fist started it would only go off when at idol...bump the rpm's up a little and it would quit....now it stays on.....
Here is what i have checked
Oil level in res tank is full
Unhooked the wires to the float in the oil res. checked with ohm meter checks ok
The mtr is getting oil ok ran it all last week in tenn no problems
Unhooked the motion sensor alarm still went off
Manual said to check the coil that powered the alarm modul...could only check with ohm meter checked ok I THINK....
When i turn on the key it does it,s check ok.....
Any ideas would be appreciated

Not sure if this will help or not, but this was my problem, try at the dock trimming your engine up and down. Mine would go off while the engine was trimmed down, and stop if the engine was trimmed up a bit. I found that there was a little air in the upper resovor. Make sure it is filled all the way up before you screw the cap and sensor on.

OK here,s the deal done all test and it is prob the alarm module.........My question is if i decide to unhook oil injection and mix manualy do i have to remove oil pump and block off everything or can i just block off oil lines and start mixing manually?

What year engine are we talking about? I generally tell people to leave the injection alone if it is newer than ten years old, although mine is an 87 and I still have it. Bass Boats are running WOT most of the time or close to it, so it generally isn`t a problem. If you are offshore fishing or trolling I would suggest keeping it. Yes, you have to remove the entire system, It isn`t that hard to do though. You can get a kit that plugs the oil pump hole after removing it from your dealer, and you have to remove the preasure line where it comes out of the block and plug the hole with a brass or steel plug. It`s actually pretty straight forward. Mix 50:1 with the gas, I am a firm believer in synthetics, I run the Amsoil HP Injector in mine with the injection hooked up, but if I had the injection unhooked I would use the same oil only mixed at 50:1. Pennzoil full synthetic is good also, but the base stock in the Amsoil is better. I understand that Royal Purple has a synthetic outboard oil also that`s TC-W3.

if yours is efi check the fuel filter for water. has the samre alarm efect as oil injections problem. hope its that simple.

I'm going through the same thing with my 94..Only difference is, mine won't shut up below 3000RPM.. After that, quiet as can be.
I've done all the tests, looks like I've got a bad wire somewhere between the coil and the module, but I have no idea beyond there.
And just so you don't spend money for no reason, I've already replaced the alarm module, that didn't help, so be sure that's the prob before you sink $100 into that part for no reason.

YA this this is gonna drive me to drink................MORE lol......I am at the point that i,m think i,m gonna unhook oil injection and just mix my oil.............That way i will know it has oil in it... I,m just wondering if i do that and unhook all the censors.....will i still have a overheat alarm. I ordered a conversion kit to unhook it.
If anyone has done this let me know.............Thanks for you imput if you find out whats wrong with yours let me know........A mech here at home told me it might be a low voltage prob...who knows

I unhooked my oil system 1 1/2 years ago. left oil pump on just pluged oil lines per instructions from a mercury racing mechanic. have not had any problems at all and I do still have a over heating alarm.

Just to let you know........Pulled the oil pump checked the gear on shaft and could see gear on crank both looked great.....found this fix on another site................
There is a solid green wire coming out of the alarm module...trace it back to the
switchbox...there will be another wire on that same terminal that goes to one of the
coils......evedently this coil was weak....I trace a wire from another coil to the
switchbox.....the one i found only had a coil wire on it......i moved the green wire
from the alarm module to that terminal . alarm went away....tested oil level sensor
and shaft rotation sensor and both worked perfect.....
Not saying this is the right way but it worked for me

sounds great. but do the oil flow test as outlined in the mercury manual just to be on the save side. dont have the manual with me or would outline proceedure.
