Let me share what I've learned about Inspecting Reeds & Blocks
Well it's winter and no better time to go through the motor to ensure it'll be good to go in the spring.....I visually inspected all my Reeds & Blocks looking at them for any pedal that would be open to far as well as the reed condition, well they all looked great until I placed a very bright white LED light inside the Reed Block only to find a very large air gap that was not visable with the naked eye. With the Reed pedal in place, this would not be an easy eye ball find. You can see by the photos that the lack of rubber was the cause for a bad seal..........I'll know better next time I do a Reed Block inspection............I called Don and said better add some more parts to the list before you ship, and as usual he always takes care of my every want and need..........

Hey Rich,
These types of velocity stacks are made to smooth out the air flow at high RPM's which is free HP on the big end. Dave Bush sells one but I'm not to keen on it so I decided to make my own..this is just my own version.......... http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/wink.gif
Thanks Paul,
Gotta keep a little BLING-BLING going....... http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/Laugh.gif http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/Laugh.gif
Re: Let me share what I've learned about I ... (Nikon Man)
Gary, just curious about the zip ties around the ECU/Connectors. Have you had a issue with the plugs coming loose or is it just a precausion? It looks to be a great idea.

Dean,
When I bought the motor it didn't have the locking plastic covers on it that are OEM, so I pulled the 3 plugs from the ECU and cleaned them up, applied dielectric grease, plugged them back in than gave them a wiggle test. I wasn't happy on how easy they wiggled out, that's why the Ty-Raps are there........piece of mind that their not coming out on there own.....LOL.
