90 sounds a little on the low side to me, but some will say as long as they are all within 10% of each other...I would think on a 5 year old motor you should be looking more aroun 110-115 range. But if all 6 read the same, then i would try another set of gauges.
Was the engine warmed to operating temp before the test? If not, that could be the culprit of the low numbers. They are all around 90?
Normally would expect to see 100-110 psi on this engine, under the following conditions:
-Warm Engine
-FULLY CHARGED, properly rated battery
-All plugs removed
-Kill switch OFF (and plug wires on spark tester or grounded)
-Throttle plate at WOT (wide open throttle) position.
I too agree that one or more of these criteria might not have been met for that compression test.....
