Re: Merc's new SHO killer? (lknbassman)
New products are almost always released officially at the Miami Boat Show in February.
Rumors abound.... but I'd recommend watching that event, as I do expect there will developments in this area. http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/wink.gif
A 150hp 4-stroke model is already listed as being available for pre-orders. http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/wink.gif
Re: Merc's new SHO killer? (EuropeanAM)
There was a thread on the bass cat section a few months ago after a dealer show, as well as pictures of the boat/motor in question, and its one one of the basscat facebook pages of a Sabre with a prototype Mercury 150 4 stroke.
Re: Merc's new SHO killer? (CoreyJ)
The Triton website shows one on the back of their 18SE as well
Re: Merc's new SHO killer? (azbass)
That looks like a 150 Verado with new graphics.

Re: Merc's new SHO killer? (azbass)
Was just watching FLW outdoors and there was an add with the proXS and another 4 stroke proXS but with a little different name, it did not show the HP

Not even close. Basscat has discussed this quite a bit on their owners forum. Whole new design.

Re: Merc's new SHO killer? (EuropeanAM)
So is it lighter too Don?
Re: Merc's new SHO killer? (lknbassman)
Slightly lighter than the Verado, but still about 125 lbs heavier than the SHO and Pro XS is the way it looks to me.
Re: Merc's new SHO killer? (FireBassr)
Darnit..... http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/ohwell.gif Think they'll do a lightweight one to compete head to head with the Yammie? Would love to buy American again on my next one. http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/USA1.gif

Inaccurate info.
Although I'm certain it will be heavier than the Opti... I think you'll be pleasantly surprised at the final weight when it's released. http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/wink.gif
Although I can't disclose specifics, this engine will certainly be a suitable contender in the Angling Market. http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/wink.gif
Re: Merc's new SHO killer? (EuropeanAM)
The 3L 4 cyl that merc makes, I believe the tag read 465lbs for the weight. It is about 30lbs heavier than a comparable 150 opti. http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/thumbsup2.gif

As Don has said, there are no numbers available on any new line. Not available yet anyway... Keep checking. Will we see a true "game changer"?

This link says 635lbs for the lightest model 6 cylinder and 510lbs for the 4 cylinder. IMO, that is one ugly freaking motor, almost as ugly as the etec.

Dale- did you watch the video? Your link above is for a completely different engine series (the Verado, which has been out since 2005).
We're talking about a COMPLETELY different engine here... it's not even listed on Mercury's site currently. http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/wink.gif
Here's some more information on this engine: http://features.boats.com/boat...ebuts/
