I have a 96 Mercury 225 EFI with a sportmaster or torquemaster not sure really. I'm gonna have to replace it. I hit somthing yesterday on the river. How much is a new one? Where are some websites that have some price and info. I can't find any info whats so ever.
I think Don will not be able to give you accurate information without a SN from the motor.

Your engine (as manufactured) was NOT EQUIPPED with any high-performance gearcase.
The gearcase was simply a SERVICEMASTER gearcase, and could be one of SEVERAL cases.
In order to proceed... we would need to know three items:
1. Casting number on the top of the gearcase.
2. ONE PIECE or TWO PIECE Driveshaft?
3. Number of splines on top of driveshaft.
I would recommend also emailing pictures to me- side view and aft (rear) view with gearcase REMOVED.
