Smartcraft/Merc monitor question
If I added one of these to a compatible motor at somepoint down the road, say six months, will all of the onboard data be available to the gauges? I'm thinking mostly of engine hours, but there may be some other stuff, too. Maybe more simply, if I add one of these to an engine with 25 hours on it, will the 25 hours show in the display,or will it begin counting at zero?
Thanks
Re: Smartcraft/Merc monitor question (Craig S)
it will give you current hours from when the engine was new. i installed one at 297 hours and thats how it came up on the smartcraft.
Re: Smartcraft/Merc monitor question (Craig S)
Information displayed on Smarcraft comes from the Engine PCM.
The engine PCM processes all pertinent engine data, and stores Engine Hours, so the Smartcraft/MercMonitor display will have accurate data.
We can configure a kit that allows you to continue use of your current instruments, OR, you can replace your current instruments with System Link Gauges.
The most commonly sold kit is wired "redundantly", allowing your current analog gauges to continue to function (with the potential exceptions of TRIM and FUEL LEVEL- these items are EITHER Smartcraft, or Analog- but NOT both). http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/wink.gif

Thanks, that's what I suspected, just wanted confirmation.
