2011 175 Pro XS idle issues
My motor keeps dying after shifting to nuetral. This seems to happen more as the day goes on. I have no issues leaving the dock, but by the time I come back in to load, it will die shifting out of gear to idle. Not necessarily right away but not long after shifting to nuetral. I have been reading a lot of posts about battery issues, could this be a result of that?

I'll never say "absolutely not" in regards to an incorrect (or low capacity) battery... but it is unlikely to cause this particular complaint.
How many hours on this engine?
What fuel are you running- and are you using Quickleen in EVERY TANK of fuel?
Also, what OIL are you running?

Thank you for taking the time to answer.
I have 20 HRs on the motor now and have taken it in to the dealer for the 20 hr check. The fun part of that is, after they did their check, I took it to the lake and found it would no longer start. http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/Laugh.gif I found a connection unplugged and it started right up. But I still have this issue with it shutting down after coming out of gear.
The last time I filled up it was at the marina at Lake Macconaughy 87 octane. I am not currently using Quickleen, just Marine Stabil.
I am using Quicksilver Premium Plus oil. From what I have read I should be now using the DFI oil, correct?
The reason I ask about the battery was because sometimes (not all the time) when cranking the motor I will get the beep. I have checked the battery and found that it is an Interstate 27M-XHD which according to your posts just meets the specs at full charge.

You should be running Quickleen in EVERY tank of fuel.
Optimax/DFI oil is the appropriate oil for your engine (it contains a better additive package, as compared to the Premium Plus, and aids in carbon prevention, extending spark plug life).
Battery upgrade is CERTAINLY in order. You don't have enough reserve capacity to run ANY electronics.
I would recommend addressing the above items (simply start using the correct oil... the two oils are compatible with each other).
Also recommend a fresh set of spark plugs (utilize the correct plug, properly gapped, and torqued to 20 ft. lbs).

Don....You have listed a gap for this motor different than the manual. Which one should I use?
-175 ProXS: .032-.033
my manual has .042
Thanks

The latest gap is actually .043". List updated, thanks!
