wasnt sure if there was something else besides the merc brand. i have been running alyson oil. are you familiar with it ?

Familiar with the brand... but we use ONLY the Mercury HP Gear lube (since it's the recommended lube, a Synthetic Lubricant, and contains emulsifiers that protect the gearcase in the event of minor water intrusion). http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/wink.gif
