250 pro xs/ 250 xs

Hey guy's I may have a chance here to repower my 2000 ranger 520vx with a brand new engine. Bumping it from a 225 standard opti. Which would be a better motor to go with a 250 pro xs or a 250 xs with the torque master lower unit. I did some reaserch on my boat because i know a lot of 520 were rated for a 225 max and my coast gaurd sticker on the boat says 250 hp max. I called ranger with my haul number to find out that my stringer is a custom stringer sys. in this boat when the prev. owner had it built thats why it is almost 275lbs heavier than a standered 520vx so that is why i want to bump to a 250hp

ProXS has 5 year warranty thru the end of May. 3 more years warranty is a STRONG selling point for me.

Make sure the model you get has the TORQUEMASTER gearcase (it's available with Both the Torquemaster and the Verado Gearcase).

Aside from differences in the midsection, decals, cowling/seals, warranty promotion and gearcase choices... the the XS and the ProXS are virtually identical. http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/wink.gif
