Neveredge or some of the hipo guys will probably have an answer.... if not, trywww.screamandfly.com... lots of them boys try them over there..
Sorry about that I forgot all about that seeing we don't hop up here. Once I hit the site then I remembered, it's helll to get old. http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/doh.gif ! Cost prohibitive to most except racers my .02. Big $$ for your normal bassboat guy. I just got a 2.6 block that I can play with but can make it sing for a whole lot less $$ and run in the stock class.
I only want it to ease starting and efficiency, honest http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/praying.gif , you mean it might make my boat faster ?! Who in their right mind would want a faster bass rig. I thought that's what John boats were for ! Not much challenge in making the Merc scream - I like to be different - my hot rods are AMC's - now you know just how ill I am. http://www.bassboatcentral.com/boardstuff2/pimp2.gif
Don't know how ill ya are but definately giving away the age here!!! http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/doh.gif http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/roll.gif
Boy, now that hurts !
Won't get much older if I keep pushing this boat faster, but I'll have a sheite eating grin when I go !
Em's tha best grins!!!!! Go for it!!! http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/roll.gif http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/roll.gif http://xs-s.com/zf/images/smile/emthup.gif
Wayne offers a number of different systems but they start at about $3000. I believe that with the basic EFI system all that is being changed is the carbs to EFI. Basically a stock motor would recieve very little benifit with this for the amount of money that it costs. The stock OMC's work just fine with the standard carb set up. The EFI is really only needed once you start changing things like taking off the air box and porting. The EFI allows you to give the motor enough fuel at all rpms to prevent melt down, a modified looper with carbs is very hard to jet correctly and many melt down at mid range rpms.
The mad system is also very hard to program so unless you are really looking to add some very serious, very expensive HP to your motor then I would not bother with it.
Thanks for the input - the motor is ported, and things really heat up fast after 6000 rpm - suspect a fuel availibilty problem. I am actually looking at having Wayne make a couple other mods. Even at $ 4000.00 its a lot cheaper than a new boat. I figure I can hang the powerhead on a bigger boat if I so choose. I got my rig for a song - it was a model year old, but new and OMC was taking a dive at the time ( so was the boat manufacture ). I figure I'm money ahead to fix her up, rather than buy a new rig.
