I just sold my Champion 203 with a 200 Merc and am about to head back to my aluminum roots.
I will probably buy a 17 foot Xpress boat and wanted to see if anyone has any experience with the mid range E Tecs for a comporable boat?

Definently max it out. Ive got a H51 Xpress with a 90 Johnson on it and it does really well.....My fishin buddy has a 90 etec on his boat and its a sweet little motor.... http://xs-s.com/zf/images/smile/emthup.gif .............
Not tin but have run 17' Bankes Duck Boats with 60hp ETEC's and they fly. These are big boats with full blinds. Boats are turning a 19" aluminum wheel. Hole shots will throw you and dog out the boat. Top speed I dont know. Next boat ride Ill take the handheld GPS. You will not go wrong with the 60 etec.
What Rmart said, i'm sure the 60 is a great motor but a 75 or 90 will do much better,go as big as you can afford.
