Re: Had a great weekend! (RazorBassin)
Well, guess I should say first lefthand retrieve baitcast I have owned.

Nope...got blanked. Fished by myself. Fish were stacked in the creeks, but had a case of the lockjaw. Went out to main lake to find em' and just could not find the fish. I threw everything at them. They were stacked up where water was flowing in from tributaries and especially runoff, but just could not tempt one to bite. Still had a blast though and got to see a few nice ones weighed in. http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/thumbsup2.gif
Re: Had a great weekend! (RazorBassin)
I seen on Jackson Co's website it only took 11 and change to win. Sounded like only a handful of limits were caught.
Re: Had a great weekend! (RazorBassin)
I wasn't the only boat that got blanked, I believe 7 boats didn't weigh anything and there was only 1 limit caught. I think had the creeks not been so muddy it would have been a heck of a day. Especially as the day got warmer.
Re: Had a great weekend! (RazorBassin)
Its tough when the creeks and rivers get muddied up like that this time of year.
Re: Had a great weekend! (cmclairday2)
Maybe it was 2 limits, had a few weigh in 4, and a lot weigh in only one and several of those they measured to make sure. It was a tough day for sure.

Cold and muddy water in a clear lake is a recipe for disaster in my opinion...

I think a lot of it on my part is just my experience level, or should I say inexperience. But judging from the amount that won it, it was a tough day for most everyone.

Yep, you need to catch an area right as it starts to muddy up and follow the mud line, or after its had a few days to start clearing from the back of the creek.

Yep....fish the mudline....or what I do, leave the backs of the creeks...lol
Re: Had a great weekend! (wildkat7)
Bad thing was the whole creek was muddy! Hill Creek, Middle Fork (these were the two creeks I fished). Wish I had another chance at it...would like to at least catch a keeper or two.
Re: Had a great weekend! (RazorBassin)
I think I would start out on main lake points and work back to where it started getting muddier (which wasn't far back in the creeks at all) or I may would have made the run to Cherokee or even down to Peter Creek. I'm more familiar with that area.
