I set the hook on a bass that was about 13 inches yesterday and broke my favorite crankbait rod. I have contacted Falcon and am waiting to hear what to do.

I mean, how hard do you really have to jerk on a crankbait...I just give em a little pop and they're stuck.

Take it to Academy, they will replace anything. Long as u got it there..hint hint. Even if its an older rod. No receipt needed. Some new customer satisfaction policy. Guy who works there told me they took back a trolling motor battery that was 2 yrs old and gave him a new one no questions. He told them it wouldnt hold a charge.... http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/roll.gif
That was the first thing I tried. They did not have that model (6 ft medium action) anymore. The guy I spoke with said that that model had been clearanced out, but they would give me a store credit for $4.88. If I had been thinking I would have asked where they keep the 5 dollar Falcon rods because i wanted to buy a few.
6ft????? COME ON
why dont you just use a disney princess pole..!! http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/roll.gif http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/stirthepot.gif

The only 6ft rods I have are my kids blue and pink Shakespear spinning rod/reel combos...
think it's time that Gayle moves up in the world...
I fished as a co-angler once with a feller at Dumas. He spent 30min bragging, raving about his "old" Allstar 7' rod. Which, for a few years had been the only 6'8" Allstar rod in existence.
(he broke the tip a few years back and repaired it).
I (edit) you not! This was a 30 minute story about the best rod in the world and his skills relating to the repair.
Again, I (edit) you not! The very MINUTE he finally shut-up about it, he got hung in a cypress knee, went to punch the lure, and "snap".
I thought I was going to pass out from holding my breath trying to keep from laughing. When that finally passed, I couldn't resist saying.
"Those 6' 3" Allstar rods are SUPER RARE" http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/Laugh.gif
Maybe one of these days gayle will move up to big boy poles..
