Went to the little red today to try for a small mouth or two, but all I caught was 10 nice largemouth 6 kentuckys, and this big chain pickrell.

I caught a pickerell last time I was there..nasty things. http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/Laugh.gif Where did you put in at??
Anytime I catch one, they become gar food....or racoon food if I am close to the bank. Lose way too many baits because of them.
I HATE those things!! http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/devil.gif I have been on a rather successful eradication of those toothy, bait stealing, slimey, no good for anything, *$^@@**((^& for several years now. http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/Laugh.gif http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/Laugh.gif
If there's one in the lake - I'll catch it every time. I'm glad to see I'm not the only one.
wow never seen one before
You probably haven't seen them b/c they took your bait. Get a bite..reel down and check...set the hook and snap. There's a pickerel. http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/devil.gif http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/devil.gif http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/devil.gif
I put in at riverside park and went up to the wier. The water was up in the logs on the left side of the river. That is where i caught most of the bass. I did catch a few down by the intake but they were small kentuckys. I caught the toothy thing across form the last dock before you get to the wier. I don't like them but they are fun to catch espically when they start jumping.
They are very fun to fight but that's about the only thing good I have to say about them. I caught one between 2-3lbs out of the saline river this year. He jumped completely out of the water at least 5 times....
Thats my experience with them they like to jump ( which I think is pretty ) I think that is why I like to catch them..
i haven't caught one of them in a long time
Fun to catch...one of the reasons I switched to Terminator spinnerbaits http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/roll.gif . I can catch them on just about any lake, any where...now, as far as catching a bunch of largemouth and spots, http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/doh.gif ....

Come up here I will show you where they live
How the blazes did pickerel get in the Little Red? To the best of my knowledge, there are no pickerel in the White River. A few saugers here and there though and some walleye that came thru the dam when they had the flood gates open earlier this year.
In my experience, if there are bass around, there will probably be pickerel.
My brother and I went over there this evening, caught a few largemouth, a couple of fat kentuckies, and one fat ugly pickerel..
BZ caught a few at lake maumelle last weeknd
I caught one at Maumelle a week and a half ago...
I caught one at Maumelle Saturday..
