Renegade V4 Prop Question - Weed Ring

Hi there, just a quick question about the "weed ring" that is available for the Renegade Props.

I just recently purchased a 13 1/4 x 23 (176198) Renegade that will be going on my 1993 Evinrude 120. I have the appropriate Thrust Washer and have read about this Weed Ring, however, I suspect that this plastic weed ring is strictly used on the V6\V8 outboards with the bigger gear cases. I have slipped the thrust washer and prop on the shaft and it fits exactly like my Raker, I couldn't imagine that the weed ring would fit my v4 gear case.

Could someone confirm my suspicions

You will not need the weed ring as you suspected.

Thanks So much for the quick reply, this is a GREAT SITE with plenty of information. I picked up my new Renegade for a pretty decent price since the marina had had it for quite some time. Spring can't come fast enough for us Northerner's, the leaves have changed colour and the dreaded "White Stuff" is not far behind.

I've been playing with different props on my boat which is a Checkmate, not a Bass boat but we've caught plenty of fish from it. Currenty run a 13.5 x 22 Raker, tried a 24 Raker which was a little bit better but lost Hole Shot, traded the 24 Raker and some cash for the Renegade. You never know what the outcome will be, but it's fun Trying !!
