I'd think either a 29 Razor4 or a Croxton 30 Bravo1 would be one of your better/durable fishing props.
trying learn about props here. Why would he use a 30 or 29? Don't most guys use a 25-27? 27 being the big end for a 250? I know its a go fast boat but still wondering.
I ran a 27P on my 225EFI on my 21XD. I'm no expert on props but the reason Mike's suggesting the 29-30P prop is because the 1.87 gear in his lower unit. Most people are running 1.75 or 1.62 gears.

no txp on the list?
The txp is faster, but has a slower holeshot and harder to drive. It wont handle as good and many of the big block motors make it blow out on breakover. Some guys dont like or get used to that.
You would need a 28-29P txp
Thanks that's what I was looking for. I have been running one on my 280 and have not found anything else that runs as good all around.

The Etech has a good amount of torque also and seems to be able to turn a bigger prop.

Profile on that H.O gearcase is completely different. It will make a difference in my opinion
What case is on it? SLE or M2 i think they are calling it? from the looks of the gears but i am no BRP guy..
Etec 250 HO,20" mid and a Bobs coned,LWPU Looper gear case 1.87 gears, case was gone through last year, new carrier and pinned
ok good. This the motor that was just recently came for sale. On like an allison or stv or something like that?
ya, why what do you know about it?

Nothing, just sounded familiar http://xs-s.com/zf/images/smile/emthup.gif
Should be good to go with that moded lower i would think. Probably just play the prop game for a while
ok, whew.
ya i expect to do that. too bad i can't until spring when it warms up and stops raining. get the prop dialed in and the summer will be over. lol.
Just wondering how fast your 21xd is. I just had my 280 rebuilt and modified. I saw 89.6 mph. 2 years ago with a Drag 4 26p that I run. THen SLOWLY lost speed down to 86. Figured it was the hot water/air combo. I am thinking that I have to make a change with the new changes to the motor. Hope I can see mid 90's. Who knows.....
with the 280?
if so it would run 85 mph all day long loaded to fish. ran so well i never bothered to lighten her up and go for top speed. but should have been able to hit 90 pretty easy though. http://www.bassboatcentral.com/boardstuff2/beers.gif

UPDATE. ran down to the river after work today and ran the barge. ran the 30p txp ot4 this time and while it was getting dark i did manage to get her up to 83mph at 5300 rpms. woo hoo!! can't wait to get some good water and weather to really air it out.
