Re: Bravo or Hydromotive? (GTN)
I would grab either one. I hear the Hydro seems to be 1 or 2mph faster then the bravo. You will find a lot more used bravos for sale. You may also come out a tad less $$$ wise if you go the Bravo route.
Re: Bravo or Hydromotive? (GTN)
A 28 TXP Runs much better than the 27s on the 21/250 Combos.
That being said, to your original question, I'd go with a 28 Hydromotive Quad 4!
Re: Bravo or Hydromotive? (GTN)
My 21XD/250XS runs best with a 28p Hydromotive Quad 4 --- holeshot and top end both.
The only issues/complaint is that mine provides a lot of torque at extreme motor heights at WOT making it hard to steer in one direction, not the other. But usually, when the motor is that high, I'm running across a flat and not running WFO anyway, but it's still there none the less.
Alll that said, that's the prop I'm sticking with, although, I wouldn't mind having a Bravo I as a beater prop http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/roll.gif
Re: Bravo or Hydromotive? (PA Officer)
Someone send me a 28" worked Hydromotive to compare to my beater prop. http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/popcorn.gif

Re: Bravo or Hydromotive? (marty92xrd)
What about the new Bravo XS you guys think it will perform out of the box or will it have to have some work done to it?
Re: Bravo or Hydromotive? (GTN)
It will more then likely need to be worked.
Most all boats will gain from a worked prop. These props are mass produced. Nothing that is mass produced is perfect http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/wink.gif
Re: Bravo or Hydromotive? (GTN)
I am running a Bravo I on my XD 21. B&B'd by Robbie Patterson. I have not made a wfo run as of yet. The holeshot is terrific and has little or no bow lift coming out of the hole, a real plus in skinny water. It pulls strong up to 80 mph. It has some more but I don't have that speed bug anymore. It's 30p x 14 1/2 on 300 PRO-MAX.
Re: Bravo or Hydromotive? (Va.Bullet)
Ray, did Robbie cut the diameter down or adjust the rake to get it to 14.5, most are 15.25
Re: Bravo or Hydromotive? (Largemouthlou)
Not sure Lou, The 14 1/2 is stamped in. I will see Robbie Next Tues. and will ask. http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/doh.gif
Re: Bravo or Hydromotive? (Va.Bullet)
Ran both said props this weekend on my 21 and would say hands down the Hydro..but like sad before you could by 2 used bravo's for one Hydro http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/Laugh.gif Still testing though, might find some magic set up for them both http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/wink.gif
Re: Bravo or Hydromotive? (BULLETRM)
I ran my bravo all weekend and am still not sure. The boat runs with a lot of bow lift. I even had raised the motor a click. Is there a setup thing I can do to get the bow down?
Re: Bravo or Hydromotive? (pijman)
My Bravo used to carry the bow a tad high. The boat also felt a little loose at times. Sent it to Croxton after he started tweaking to the 14.5 specs. When I got it back I had to add some PVS plugs to it to get her tuned in. Now she is a totally different running animal. The hole shot is the same. However the handling is much better. The attitude of the boat is perfect and the bow does not get flighty.
I liked my Bravo before. Now I love it for a fishing prop.
I will get my hands on a Hydromotive some day to compare.
Re: Bravo or Hydromotive? (Hydrilla)
My Pro E.T. runs bow high too. Can't get the rpm up though. http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/eyes.gif
Re: Bravo or Hydromotive? (Hydrilla)
I have some pics of Jeremy Taylor's 21/250xs running my hydro 29 quad 4 xo-b. I'll try to post them later today. Boat was running great, looked like it was hanging in the air and solid as a rock. I drove it, was easy to handle as well. First Bullet I ever drove, ran it to 81 with no problem and had some left. My prop has sand scratches and a couple small dings in it, would probably be a different prop after Mark does the Raker thing and cleans it up.
Re: Bravo or Hydromotive? (GTN)
Call Tom at Hydromotive and be done with the prop search. Best fishing props I have ever ran.
Re: Bravo or Hydromotive? (BulletTJ)
I also run a 29 Hydromotive Q4X-OB on my 21 XDC with 2004 250 XS 1:75 TM case . It works very well and lifts the bow easily .. best so far is 83.8 at just over 5700... my limiter is only 5850 on my 2004 ... I think a 28 Hydromotive Q4X-OB on the 2005 XS and newer 250 Pro XS that can rev higher would be near optimum... Your boat , being a single console should be a bit faster than mine... good luck... http://www.bassboatcentral.com/boardstuff2/beers.gif

I couldn't tell any difference in holeshot or driving, both the Bravo and Hydro are great props.......they Hydro was faster but a Bravo in 29P would likely perform the same........you won't be disappointed in either........let the price be the deciding factor http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/thumbsup2.gif
Re: Bravo or Hydromotive? (BOOD)
The 28 TXP OT4 is the way to go I have one on my 21XD with a 3.0 225 EFI and with a half tank of gas and fishing load , me no water in live wells I'm getting 82.6 on the (gps) at 5650 RPM. I am happy with that ... http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/bows.gif http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/thumbsup2.gif ANd thats the truth Mike Lohn set me up , it hauls the mail for a 225 EFI... http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/smile.gif
