Need some help/advice ?????? DON HELPPPPPPPPPPPPP !!!

I just put a holeshot plate on my 12" jackplate on a 20X2 and i noticed my water pressure dropped quite a bit ???? Any explanation for this ??? Is it because there is more lift on the back of the boat due to the water hitting the holeshot plate ???? About 17 PSI WOT and when i go into a turn i saw it drop to about 12 and i got out of it quick... saw the water temp spike to 141 Deg/F..... I would have to think when running that the bottom of your jack plate is well out of the picture and shouldn't have water hitting it... Is the lip (bend down )longer then 1"..

Guess the best way to find out is run it then trailer it and remove the plate then run it again..

Could be the a coincidence the impeller when bad.. You didn't mess with the motor height for any reason?? Also 12 psi is usually enough to keep her cooler then 140

Possible that it's increased lift.... also possible that it's disturbed water flow at the gearcase, allowing the upper water inlets to be aerated.
