why would raw fuel come out sporty ??
Hey guys,
Been doing some work on my Simonized 300 Merc (2002-2005 equivalent) and have had a strange issue.
When I turn the key to aux position (on but not cranking) my electric fuel pump pumps fuel (as it always has) but then the raw fuel just pours out the sides of my sportmaster (side exhaust outlets)
My thoughts:
1) there is a bad injector that remains open all the time (sticking or broken??)
2) the new computers I put in are not telling the injectors to stay closed on the aux position (not even sure if the computer reprogram would control that)
everyone's thoughts are welcome. I hope to be in contact with Mr. Simon himself on Monday, but still would like to hear what everyone thinks.
thanks guys

Re: why would raw fuel come out sporty ?? (Chris1978)
Sounds like an injector or two hanging open or an O'ring problem.
Re: why would raw fuel come out sporty ?? (Chris1978)
Not sure if this is important,
but when I crank the engine over it runs perfect (hooked up to the hose) it will idle, rev, etc just fine. But in the AUX or while running the raw fuel pumps out the lower unit as explained above.
Thanks again guys

Do you still have a VST on this engine?
Pulse fuel pump installed (or was it removed)?
Re: why would raw fuel come out sporty ?? (EuropeanAM)
Not 100% about the VST I'll have to check.
Spoke with Eric about it and he seems to think its the Fuel ECU so I'm gonna pop a new one on and see...
I'll keep everyone posted, thanks for the help!
