Re: lowrance networking? (chad202)
What do you have at the console?
Re: lowrance networking? (jeff210)
hds5. need something up front to nework to the hds5
Re: lowrance networking? (chad202)
Another hds unit with the Ethernet cable linked.between the two will work.
Re: lowrance networking? (fishin couillon)
so the one up front will get power thru one at the console or I need to power it up seperate?
Re: lowrance networking? (chad202)
You will need power, the ethernet cable is data only
Re: lowrance networking? (russ_nixon)
Ethernet does not need.power like the nema 2000k network. Just plug and play. Each unit needs power like any other unit.
Re: lowrance networking? (fishin couillon)
Okay, what units are compatable to do that. I'm not looking to put another hds up front, just a sounder/depth?
Re: lowrance networking? (russ_nixon)
Not looking to store waypoints on up front unit. So if I put a regular depth/sounder up front and hook it to my hds is will not see the depth that my hds is seeing? dat sucks.
Re: lowrance networking? (russ_nixon)
so I need to get another hds 5 but without transducer. Just unit, mount, and get a cable to hook from unit to unit?
Re: lowrance networking? (chad202)
The hds units use the same 2d ducer....the lss is an add on if one would want it. The older lms /lcx units will share sonar via Ethernet also but they don't make them anymore unless you buy one from someone....also they don't repair the older units. My opinion your better off getting another hds unit and yes you can.network/share the regular sonar ducer between units whether you have one ducer or two. You do not need the lms ducer as its only for side scan and downscan not 2d sonar.
