225 Optimax Pro XS Spark Plugs

I have a 2004 225 Optimax Pro XS that I`m changeing plugs in. I`t has Izfr5g in it now, should it have Izfr6j.

I would suggest that you provide your engine serial number (for proper identification), especially since there were "NO PROXS MODELS" in 2004. http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/wink.gif

Thanks for the reply, I found the information under the cowel and it says Izfr5g for plugs. The motor cover does say Pro Xs on it. The serial No. is OT946174

You will indeed use the IZFR5G spark plugs.

Someone has changed the engine cover (or decals) on that engine. It's actually:

ENG: 0T946174 1225D73CT 2004 MERCURY 3.0L DFI OPTI DIGITAL

ARctic, if you dont mind me asking, what boat is that outboard on? I sold my 05 Basscat Puma several years ago to a guy from Maryland. It had a standard 225 Optimax however the cowling was cracked due to a boat wake while tied up to the dock and was replaced by a spare cowling with the Pro XS decals.

It`s on a 2004 nitro 929.
