Dwight depending on weather it could be tough at either end. I would have talked them yahoos into bruin again! Straight across is never a bad choice. if you go north there is a canal goes back and makes a left to a cove holds some fish sometimes that time of year!
That time of year fish the North end first, then work down the bank across from the landing.

That's where we stayed last year. Nice place plus it's next to a resturaunt and a bar if you want to partake in some of that. They also have have a boat launch.

I was told yesterday Lake St. John is closed until further notice because of high water. Better call and check before you guys come up here.
Just confirmed from Eddie Roberts sight it is CLOSED until further notice. Concordia is still open for now. Eddie said its the highest he has seen it in 35 years, so don't hold your breath it remains open much longer.
Right now we're not coming till the 24-26th. Let's hope it opens by then. And we are staying at Neely's. Thanks ...
Do you have a number from Eddie that we could keep track or is there somewhere where we could keep up ???

ALso you can IM/Email me a couple days before you come and i'll check on it for ya.. I live a mile from Lake Concordia, and just a few from St John, so it won't be a big deal to swing by somewhere and take a look for ya.
