30-50 depending on cover and clarity.
I mostly fish stained water but i use 65lb power pro! Ask ole gun whats it like having a 3-4 lbers flyong at you http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/roll.gif http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/roll.gif http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/roll.gif
I flip with 65 but I like to go smaller with the smaller rods. I also use these rods for salt and that 65 doesn't cast too far.
Yeah I like over kill!!!!!!!!!
65 # is good , unless your fishin heavy grass like the Cat , then you need to go down to like 50 # because it cuts through the grass better ! http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/thumbsup2.gif
Doug and Gun run the big braid!!
i dont do less than 65! With it you dont need to cut the grass bring it too!!!!!!!!!!!!! Works wells as weedeater string when you out! 59 thats for sissys! http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/roll.gif

I mean flipping or casting the 50 will get further down in thick grass than 65 !!!!!!!
I can go heavier to get the bait down but when i yank i want the fish coming to me with or without the grass!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What rods are you using Doug?
I fish a Falcon Original most of the time . Doug has a bunch of different kinds of rods but most are Falcons . ( Low Riders I think ) http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/thumbsup2.gif

I am picking up a new Lowrider tomorrow. They are great rods.
50# Power Pro on Falcon Low Rider and Cara. If you get a good spool, 50# will handle anything you hook.
I like 30lb for everything... about to start puttin 50 on the jig rod.
30lb for flipping and 50 for my frog setup
55# and 70# depending on cover, and i highly recommend diawa samuri braid, not that any of the other's are not good it's just that samuri is that much better, quiter, softer, and better color fast retention http://xs-s.com/zf/images/smile/emthup.gif
I use 20 - 30 lb. Power pro on medium heavy G-Loomis rods, those are the ones that I cast or far pitch, I use 65lb power Pro on a Quantum flipping stick for heavy grass.

NOPE ALL CARAS.. I have a couple old castaways that were like 160.00 10 years ago i prefer to any of them. Those are the two i use most but all the rest are caras. Little hint when you break falcon dont tell them you were using braid or they dont want to warranty them.
