I got a service question. I have run this motor for a full season and I have around 90 hrs on it. Do I need a dealer service or do I just change out the impeller, gear oil in the foot, and whatelse?
Oh yeah my water pressure gauge quit working. I still have a reading on my SC gauges. Any ideas?
Although I would "recommend" a dealer service (simply so that you can have the Freeze Frame (Fault) History Read and checked for faults), you "could" do this yourself.
I'd recommend you obtain OEM Mercury:
-Water pump impeller and gaskets
-High Perf Gear Lube
-Fuel Filter
-2-4-C Grease
-NGK IZFR6J Spark Plugs (gap at .040")
My local dealer only has a DDT but I will get a fault history on the motor with that.

My belt broke on mine due to a loose bolt. My dealer claims they could have found this if I let them service my engine because they would have noticed too much slack and worn areas on the belt. There is no telling what a good mechanic would notice that may save you a trip in from the water being towed by a 1952 Johnson on a 14 ft flat bottom.
