Anybody think the hard freeze we are having over the next 3 days will affect fishing in Bayou Black/Bayou Segnette area? They say it's supposed to get down to the low to mid 20's thursday night and friday night.
Also, if we have to make a run in that weather, would you guys recommend a paintball mask with layers or motorcycle helmet?

The fishing will suck bigtime....at least in Bayou Black. They were very active last Friday before the front. http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/wink.gif I took one of Bandit's neighbors and we wore them out.

Bassmaster, what day are you going? I plan to be at cataouatchie Sat but I dont think I am going very early, probably 7-8ish. We had a good day there last week when it was still kinda warm.

We are launching out of Bayou Black Marina Saturday morning. We fish safe daylight till 3:00pm. I'm more concerned of the ramp freezing and someone's truck and boat going into the water http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/eek.gif
We had a 14# stringer come out of Lafitte last Sunday with there was 2 5# fish cought some of the fish had spawned out all ready. The diversion is on the water temp is usaly steady there by this weekend the water temp in Lake Cataouatche will be in the 40's it about 51 right now.

Last Friday the water temp was 62 in Bayou Black and the 2-4lb females were 15-20' off of the bank. There were some males up, but not many.
Where we were fishing the water temp was 67 and as warm as 69 this past Sunday and a few fish that we cought come off heavy cover belly was swolen at on point but complenty empty. Cought about 20+ fish myself most all males all within 3' of the bank or laydowns or stumps.
I might need some tips for a club turny next month over there I just suck at Bayou Black
