Ruddock?????

Was on my way back from Golden Meadow this past weekend and passed over Ruddock. I've heard of people catching bass around that area before, but I've only been out there one time, and that was when I was a kid. Dad lost a big bass on a buzzbait, that's all I remember..

Anybody fish there lately or at all? If someone could give me an idea of if it's worth trying or not, that'd be great. Maybe some info about general areas to try...you can post here or IM me. I'm planning a trip in a couple of weeks to go try and catch some bass and I'm thinking about maybe trying down there...

I'm also considering going out to Grand Lake above Big Pigeon...or maybe the Lake Verret area...but I know those areas pretty well...so I figured I'd ask to see what ya'll could tell me about Ruddock...thanks in advance!

There are fish in Ruddock but they can be tempermental! Try the 51 canals in either direction from Ruddock. I like jigs this time of year and spring crawfish colored bandits. But I think I would go to Pigeon instead your odds are much better. I did hear if you run thru north pass to the mouth of Ponchatrain they are catching alot of specs under the power lines to your right as you enter the lake. Try cacahoes on a jig head electric chicken works well out there!

Fished two tournaments at Ruddock in the early '80's. First time we had two spares stolen off our trailors. The second time we got smart and didn't bring our spares. They jacked one trailor up and stole the tires. Haven't been back.

Sherriff dept as a office trailer setup out there now. I been fishin it for 30 years never had a problem.
