You can replace EITHER the speed or the tach. Or both.... we can get you a "System Link" Speedo or Tach (to replace the other analog gauge). Your choice.
I haven't had any issues with the dozens of units we've sold. http://xs-s.com/zf/images/smile/emthup.gif
There is a tool for the water separting filter... Part number: 91-896661 http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/wink.gif
Re: Don SmartCraft Monitor (EuropeanAM)
What does the link gauges look like and is the gauges hard to connect. I noticed that Mercury does not have the 250 Pro XS on the link. I would want to put the link speedo and put the monitor in the rpm place. How much does the link gauge cost. Thanks
Re: Don SmartCraft Monitor (Danny Haley)
The "System Link" Speedo (depending on color and MPH Rating) runs $100-$125.
Simple "plug-n-play" connection.... all system link gauges connect to one connector on the Mercmonitor's harness, and "daisy chain" connect between any system links you install now, or in the future.
Face color choices include White, Gray, and Black. Bezel colors are available in "most any color other than Gold". http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/wink.gif
If you run into any issues with installation, I'm alway happy to assist. http://xs-s.com/zf/images/smile/emthup.gif
The 250 was left off the "list" inadvertantly.... features for the 250 ProXS are IDENTICAL to the 225 ProXS (as listed). http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/wink.gif
Re: Don SmartCraft Monitor (EuropeanAM)
I will call you this week and possible order both depending on how expensive the monitor is. Thanks alot for your help.

I have a 2001 ProCraft 215 Combo with a 225 Merc. Will the SmartCraft Monitor work for my setup? Thanks

Re: Don SmartCraft Monitor (khart)
How hard is it to hook up the SmartCraft guages to an 2010 Optimax 2010? Is it something that an average do-it-yourselfer can do? Since my tach is off, I was thinking of going this route instead.

Quite simple!
Basically "plug and play" for the base-system. We're always ready and willing to assist if you run into any issues.
The most difficult part is running the data harness (and it's possible that your boat is ALREADY RIGGED for the main harness, simplying installation). http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/wink.gif
Re: Don SmartCraft Monitor (EuropeanAM)
How do I know if my boat is already rigged for the main harness? Also, what would each of the components run me?
Re: Don SmartCraft Monitor (Nitrodoc)
Take a look at the keyswitch harness. Somewhere within three feet of the keyswitch (on the harness) should be a "10 pin plug" (2-rows of five pins). It would have AT LEAST a red wire, purple wire, blue wire, and white wire in it. Do you see such a plug? (if not, we can add a harness).
The plug would look like the one being "depinned" in this post:
http://www.bbcboards.net...ector
The new Mercmonitor kit (WITH harness) is $428. Slightly less if you already have the 10 pin plug....... most setups this way are $390, including a junction block and the needed terminating resistor.
Don't panic if you don't find the plug..... some manufacturers (especially Triton and some of it's sister companies) are using "outsourced aftermarket harnesses".... and don't have the plug in the harness. That's why we have a kit "with harness". http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/wink.gif
Re: Don SmartCraft Monitor (EuropeanAM)
Thanks. I will check my boat and see what it has. What comes in the Mercmonitor kit though? Does it come with both the speedo and tach?
Re: Don SmartCraft Monitor (Nitrodoc)
Mercmonitor combines BOTH into a single unit. http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/wink.gif
We can still get the System Tach & Speed kit (I think this is what you're referring to). Personally, I like the MercMonitor MUCH better.... here's some more information (in another post):
http://www.bbcboards.net...58375
Re: Don SmartCraft Monitor (EuropeanAM)
Don,
Thanks for the quick response. Now I see, it is everything in one gauge. But if I put this in the place of the tach, I can also add a smart craft speedo to the spot where the speedo is to make it match better?

Re: Don SmartCraft Monitor (Nitrodoc)
Sure can! In this case, we'd use a "System Link" Speedo (looks like an analog gauge, but is "digitally driven" by the MercMonitor). http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/wink.gif
Any number or combination of "other system links" are also possible.... volts, water pressure, engine temp, trim, fuel, etc. etc. Let's just say it's an "expandable installation". http://xs-s.com/zf/images/smile/emthup.gif
