BB at Clinton

Just seeing who all is fishing it this weekend? It looked like a lot of guys were out there pre-fishing this weekend.

I would like too...work has just been too hectic lately...had to miss the first one of the year. Unless it rains I probably wont be able to make it again. I will be at the next couple at LOZ/Truman and Perry for sure!!

Kansas Best of Bass tourney trail...second tournament of the year is at Clinton Lake this weekend May 21st. http://www.kansasbuddybass.com I havent been to Clinton lake for 6 years or so when the tournament trail Rick Dykstra ran fished there. I think 3 fish were weighed in that tourny...but with Bass Pass maybe it will be better

I'm planning on being there.

How did everybody fare? We could only manage 3 keepers for 9.8lbs. Early bite and a late bite, dead in between.

18 pounds to win it though. I was floored. Didn't think the lake could produce that kind of weight.

I was really surprised with the weights as well. We couldn't even get one to keep. We caught about 25 fish and had a lot of 14 1/2, 14 3/4 shorts.

Yeah, we had some of those just-short fish too. I'd sure like to find out where and how that 18-lb limit was caught. Very impressive.

I was out there crappie fishing and saw several of the guys fishing....everyone we talked to had 1 or 2 keepers and that was it.

We caught some nice crappie by accident. A 14" and a 13" male were the biggest, plus 6-8 in the 11-12 inch range. We should have been fishing a crappie tournament. http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/Laugh.gif

Talked to several crappie fisherman. Most looked like they were using too small of baits, and catching 8-9 inchers. Throw them 3-4 inch bass baits and catch some hog crappie. http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/roll.gif

I Caught most of mine on a yum walleye grub Saturday. They like big baits just like bass like to eat crappie :)

Results are posted. I've never fished Clinton but they had some pretty good weights! Good job everybody!
