I've got about 10hrs on my 09 250proXS and am noticing carbon build up on the outside of the prop. Is this normal and/or is there something I should be adding to the fuel to prevent this? Sorry if this is a dumb question but never had it happen on my old 200 Optimax. http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/embarassed.gif

Why does this happen and what happens if you do not add quickleen (besides your propeller turning even more black)?

If you don't use the Quickleen, the carbon can build up on the top of your pistons and after so much build up, a hot spot will develop and pretty soon you will burn a piston. Why does it happen? Thank the EPA and oil company's for putting out a poor quality of gas.

Additionally, you can expect decreased spark plug life, carbon fouling of the direct injectors, and eventual loss of performance. http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/wink.gif
