Paul your spot sounds very similar to a big chunk of ground that I hunt up here. Have killed birds in the bottom and on the top side, but more often than not when I choose to go low first thing in the morning I end up wishing I went high. They will sometimes fly into the bottom ground, but they usually fly down with hens and if you can't get those hens to come to you, you are done. Where I go if they fly down into the bottom ground, they'll dance around for a while, eat a bit, and quickly make their way up the wooded hillside. If I was you I would take the topside. There is an old tale about it's easier to call turkeys up a hill than down, although I have done both. Just speaking from my own experiences, I would rather hunt the topside, gives you more options. If they end up flying into the bottom, you can hopefully spot them and move in close enough to try and call one uo to you. Good luck.
Thanks Tim,
I've killed more turkey on top and in the wood too, but the bottom alway looks so good. http://xs-s.com/zf/images/smile/emhammer.gif
