Upcoming Tournament Circuits...
I wanted to make sure that everyone interested in fishing tournaments is aware of the upcoming MSTA (Mid States Tour. Assoc.) and also the Burton's weekend and Thurday night circuits.
The first Burton's tournament is this Sunday. Contact: http://www.burtonsbaitandtackle.com
The first MSTA (pro-am) is on April 5th. This circuit is a pro-am format but both the boater and non-boater fish together as a team, weighing the best 5 fish that they catch as a team. Great format! Contact http://www.smithvillemarine.com
I've been fishing both circuits for years and they are a hell of a lot of fun and pretty affordable. All out of Smithville Lake. Also the MSTA circuit awards a new boat to both the Pro and Amatur winners of the championship. http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/bows.gif
There is still plenty of time to sign up ...

I don't want anyone misinformed here.... there are some rules to get the boat... I believe you have to have bought a boat from Smithville marine within the last two years or something like that.
Re: Upcoming Tournament Circuits... (KCLOST)
I took some Thursday night money from them boys last year http://www.bassboatcentral.com/boardstuff2/pimp2.gif
Re: Upcoming Tournament Circuits... (Hydrilla Gorilla)
Never have heard anything about rules on winning the boat, I have fished that circuit for about 4 years now and that is the first I have heard of that rule. You might do a little research on that...I am pretty sure you are wrong. I know the guy who won last year had a new boat from Show Me boats when he won, and they still gave it to him.

Three years ago it was $90.... how much is it now?
Re: Upcoming Tournament Circuits... (catchatoad)
Re: Upcoming Tournament Circuits... (ks cranker)
It is $120 for non resident, truck and boat. I figure I fish 30 tournaments a year up there and that comes up to $4 a tournament. And the price would go down if I ever got up there to prefish and made more trips up there, but that hasn't happened in a few years, because of the price of gas. If you break it down, it is worth having a nice well maintained boat ramp, I used to hate the $90 cost and then I started thinking about it as a per trip cost.

That is Smithville incentives that they also pay no requirement to winning the boat other than winning the year end fish off
The MSTA is a Great tournament circuit I will be there again this year http://xs-s.com/zf/images/smile/emthup.gif http://xs-s.com/zf/images/smile/emthup.gif http://xs-s.com/zf/images/smile/emthup.gif

Re: Upcoming Tournament Circuits... (Lsto19)
The N2it buddy circuit season kick off at Mozingo is also this weekend.....I have fished it for 2 years and it is a good circiut $120 entry fees and 90% payout ussually average 25-30 boats....Also a Trition Gold sanuationed circuit. 20 lb bags are common and 20lbs didn't get a check at one event last year n2itfishing.com
Re: Upcoming Tournament Circuits... (Lsto19)
As of the last few days, they were short a few non-boaters for the MSTA. So if any of you are interested please give them a call.... But they will still take all entries regarless of pro or am...

LOL..... Not true, there is no requirement!!!!!!
However curtosy of Smithville Marine, for each qualifying tournament "win" and the championship, you can win up to $1000 for owning a stratos boat purchased from Smithville marine. $500 for owning a non stratos boat purchased from them. They also have bonus money for the top finishers with a smithville marine purchased boat if the winner doesn't qualify. It will pay $500 for the top Stratos Smithville Marine finisher and also $250 to the top Non Stratos Smithville marine purchased boat. The Stratos 2X (double your winnings qualifies). And the Skeeter $2000-3000 bonus for winning also qualifies... The Triton Bonus money also qualifies if we have over 60 boats..... (I hate that Triton clause they put in on that deal) But it is better than nothing, hoping for 65 boats for the opener...
Hope to see you there.....

MSTA REMINDERS
Please print a copy of this reminder and review it each week preceding a tournament.
Beginning Monday, 30 March 2009 all MSTA Reminder updates will be published at http://www.SmithvilleMarine.com/MSTA2009
In order to make this new NO MEETING format work there are a few things that will help things go smoothly.
FIRST -- TIME LINE
All entry fees are due by end of the day Tuesday before the tournaments. Please comply
On Wednesday we will publish a list of tournament participants. You can check that list at http://www.SmithvilleMarine.com/MSTA2009 . If your name isnÂt listed or your Guarantee is not listed and you have paid please give me a call at 816-532-4000. We will do the pairing Friday afternoon and publish it before 5 p.m.
There will be a roster with contact information posted at http://www.SmithvilleMarine.com/MSTA2009. Once you determine who you are fishing with you will need to go to the roster to get contact information. It is your responsibility to make contact to set up meeting point for Sunday morning.
SECOND - SUNDAY MORNING
Take-off time will be posted with pairings.
As you are launching your boat check in with us -- just a boat number and acknowledgement that both anglers are there is all we need.
There will be a brief meeting on water similar to what we did last year. Maybe a little more detail.
THIRD - PARK PASSES HAVE CHANGED THIS YEAR.
Day passes will be available at the booth but season passes have to be purchased at the Marina at Camp Branch Park Office. Fee this year is $120.00 for boat and vehicle or $40.00 for vehicle only. Senior Citizens boat and vehicle pass is $90.00. They will be on hand on Sunday morning to check passes.
FOURTH - INSURANCE
Boaters if you havenÂt sent your verification of insurance please do so. You can mail to
Joann Austin
P.O. Box 696
Smithville, MO 64089
Or fax it to 816-532-3832
Or email it to jaustin@smithvillemarine.com
FIFTH - GUARANTEE PARTNERS
We currently have 51 Boaters that have committed to the first tournament and 48 Non-Boaters. Not all of these have paid so itÂs close. Hopefully this weekend will bring a few more of each. Thanks to all that have recruited new people. I am afraid some of you have not signed up because you havenÂt found your own Guarantee. If this the case, contact me as I have been able to match a lot of Guarantees here.
FINALLY - OPEN HOUSE AND SWAP MEET THIS WEEKEND
We are having an Open House and our first ever Swap Meet Saturday March 28 (tomorrow). WeÂve invited local bass clubs, BurtonÂs, and a distributor to participate. Hopefully, Mother Nature wonÂt give us what is promised but this would be a good time to take care of loose ends for the tournament and have a hot dog on us.
Hope to see you here,
Joann Austin
