They both make a quality product... although Shimano (and everyone else) copied a lot of Daiwa's engineering

Find someone who has committed the same amount of time using both, equal models and that would be the person I would want to ask.

Lincoln was predominantly Shimano for YEARS.....you could find a Daiwa if you tried. so I used to use Shimanos quite a bit http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/USA1.gif
