Glad ot see my Vote is workign for something

WASHINGTON — Nebraska U.S. Rep Jeff Fortenberry is applauding President Barack Obama for imposing a $500,000 cap on senior executive pay for the most distressed financial institutions receiving federal bailout money.

Fortenberry, a Republican, is a member of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee. He says Obama has done the right thing in holding executives accountable.

Obama announced the dramatic new government intervention into corporate America at the White House Wednesday. The move comes amid a national outcry over huge bonuses to executives heading companies seeking taxpayer dollars to remain afloat.

The pay cap would apply to institutions that negotiate agreements with the Treasury Department for “exceptional assistance” in the future.

Why should Obama have anything to say how much a man can make a year? If my employer or board of directors say my salary is $$$.$$$ that's our business.

that is EXACTLY what this is addressing......basically.......having a Salary cap for the Institutions who have already or plan on borrowing money from the Gov........that way they are NOT paying millions in bonus $$$ out to these greedy bastages

There is a better way..... we consumers pay attention and stop buying there shit....anyone who thinks regulation stimulates our economy doesn't know much about a free market system......

The government telling people what they are worth/regulating wages sounds a whole lot like socialism/communism and they have worked wonderfully well.
