How much LU oil does a 225 pro xs take?
I drained all my oil from the LU (which didnt seem like much) and refilled it for the winter with Mercury HP oil. I bought 2 32oz. bottles, and only used about 2/3 of one before it started coming out of the top. I figured it would have held more that that....Normal? http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/USA1.gif

I just did my 250 Pro XS last weekend and I put about 25 ounces or so in mine.
I was using a quart bottle and had a bit less than a quarter of it left.

Usually 26-28 ounces, depending on how well it's been drained. http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/wink.gif

I think dukhntr may have answered my question here. On my '08 model 250 pro xs I'm assuming would require the Mercury HP oil? I figured this would be obvious on the bottle.....but it ain't http://xs-s.com/zf/images/smile/emhammer.gif http://xs-s.com/zf/images/smile/emhammer.gif . I was looking at the different types in the local tackle/boat shop yesterday and couldn't figure out which one I should get.

Mercury or Quicksilver HP (High Performance) Gear Lube is the correct lube for your gearcase (it meets or exceeds the ratings for ALL outboard gearcases). http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/wink.gif
Incidentally... it's the only lube I use. http://xs-s.com/zf/images/smile/emthup.gif
