Re: Geary County State Lake (Doug Vahrenberg)
Is he going to Geary or to Milford? Judging by the proximity to the T going on at Milford that time I would say Milford.
THere are a few posts you can search for from others fishing that tournament that have got some responses. I think all of us have been approached by guys looking for information at this point and as small as Milford fishes everyone is probably getting the same info as what is in these previous posts.
Now if he wants to fish Geary State Lake instead of Milford he will probably enjoy the fishing much more.
Re: Geary County State Lake (chunter_ksu)
It's on Geary County State Lake for the Junior World Championship.
Re: Geary County State Lake (Doug Vahrenberg)
Oh, Sorry I didn't realize it was on Geary. That lake is a lot of fun to fish but I have never fished it that time of year. I am sure that one of the JC guys can help you.
I was hit up by two guys from Canada today for info on Milford so I guess my mind was there.
Re: Geary County State Lake (chunter_ksu)
THat lake is small. Surely they can come up with something. A guy can literally fish the whole entire lake in a day. Jigs and cranks... http://xs-s.com/zf/images/smile/emthup.gif
Re: Geary County State Lake (dukhntr)

Re: Geary County State Lake (Doug Vahrenberg)
Very small State Fishing Lake, fish will usually chase a small crank or spinnerbait. In Nov, you may have to SLOW down with a jig or plastic.
The lake was initially constructed and stocked in 1959. The lake was rehabilitated in 1987.
Description:
Geary State Fishing Lake and Wildlife Area is 10 miles south of Junction City. The 99-acre lake is surrounded by 180 acres of public hunting land which harbors good numbers of quail, pheasant, doves, squirrels, rabbits, white-tailed deer, beaver, muskrats, raccoons, coyotes, bobcats and numerous nongame birds and animals. The lake also serves as a stopover area for migrating waterfowl in the fall and spring. Several food plots are maintained each year to provide winter food for birds and other wildlife. The lake is an excellent clear lake. The lake has been stocked with largemouth bass, walleye, saugeye, channel catfish, flathead catfish, bluegill and crappie. The lake and public hunting area are open year round. Picnic tables, fireplace grills and camping areas are available for public use.

Re: Geary County State Lake (dragracenova)
I appreciate the info. I've passed it on and sure he will appreciate what he is getting into and what's available for them to fish.
If you ever get over to Truman or missouri give me a shoot and I'll tryto help.
Re: Geary County State Lake (Doug Vahrenberg)
I think I'd camp out on the first little stretch just West of the boat ramp and out to the long point then around
then just back and forth
I think there is a fish feeder at the end of the point
Re: Geary County State Lake (BLAAJA)
My biggest fish I caught out of there about 6 lbs came on the point with the brush on it just east of the boat ramp, caught it from the boat dock. I also have did good fishing the beaver hut in the creek channel.
