I have an 02' 250 XB and was wondering if there is suppose to be a "Beeping" sound whenever the ignition is turned to the on position. I'm pretty sure that it is suppose to, but mine doesn't do this. Can anyone suggest what I need to do to fix this?

Yes, it should beep. this is an indicator to let you know the warning horn is working properly. You need to replace the warning horn. If you will follow the wires from your ignition switch, you will find the horn.
You need to check your warning horn for operation. It will be up under the dash near the keyswitch. Size of a quarter maybe, purple and tan wires going to it (possibly red and black as well). You can apply 12vdc to those wires to test it if you choose to do so
This warning horn, is it to let you know if the oil is low or out?
Yes, it also let's you know if you are overheating and I believe low fuel pressure
All above correct- except it does not report "low fuel pressure".
You'll want to address this right away... you're essentially "flying blind" if your warning horn is not functioning.
I found a small round type case that had a hole in the top of it. It also had a zip-tie all the way around it and it's tied to a cluster of wires. Could this be the horn? It looks to be about the size of a half dollar. Sure is going to be hard to get to on this old bee I think.
That sounds like the warning horn... http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/wink.gif
You were right! Had to get a new horn. Now you can hear her BEEP! Thanks to all.
